Search engines make it simple to locate discounts, vouchers and coupons for a variety of different travel services. Does that mean the travel agent is out of business? Of course not. There will always be people who prefer to make their travel arrangements in person rather than on the computer.

You may want to consider opening an online travel agency. At the least, those with a brick and mortar agency should have a website where they can help customers online. The reason for this is because you can expand your customer base from local to worldwide. You can serve customers that may be across the country from you. This means more customers and more money for your business. You can even start a travel agency that doesn't have a physical location. You can serve all the needs of your customers online.

There are other online travel business opportunities that you may want to consider as well. For example, you could become an affiliate for a company that sells airline tickets or hotel accommodations. An affiliate promotes the products and services of a particular company and makes a percentage of each sale that was referred by them. There are plenty of ways to promote travel related affiliate programs. One good way to learn more about marketing anything online is to participate in message boards for professionals in the world of Internet marketing.
